Hamster IgG monoclonals and ELISA launched

Published: May 11, 2023

Updated: October 18, 2023

What’s new?

We’ve developed two new monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) that bind hamster IgG. This new antibody pair is included in the new Hamster IgG ELISA Flex kit.

These in-house-developed monoclonal antibodies are specific to Syrian hamster, also known as golden hamster. We found no cross-reactivity of these antibodies to Armenian hamster or any other species tested.

Syrian hamster is a small animal model used in medical research such as cancer and immunotherapy research, respiratory diseases, and infectious diseases like SARS-CoV-2.

Why measure IgG?

When you measure total IgG responses, you can assess the secondary antibody response, for example after infection or vaccination.

If your antigen of interest is available, you can also adjust your ELISA setup to detect antigen-specific IgG.
