Analyte information
apoM
Analyte description | Apolipoprotein M (apoM) is a lipocalin mainly produced by the liver. It binds sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), and HDL-containing apoM is the major transporter of S1P. ApoM–S1P is involved in several signaling pathways implicated in the atheroprotective functions of HDL. ApoM has a role in lipoprotein metabolism, atherosclerosis, diabetes, and renal diseases. The normal concentration of apoM in human plasma is approximately 6-60 mg/L. |
