Gordon et al. (J Allergy Clin Immunol, 2019) at the NIH recently showed that apoE works as an endogenous, concentration-dependent pulmonary danger signal that primes and activates the NLPR3 inflammasome in BALF macrophages from asthmatic subjects to secrete IL-1β.
It is thus important to measure apoE in the context of inflammatory responses, and yes you guessed it, Gordon et al. used Mabtech ELISA Pro: human apoE and mouse apoE for that purpose.
