What’s new?
We added a new monoclonal antibody to our webshop: Anti-influenza B (NP) mAb (4D5). We offer this antibody clone in the unconjugated and biotinylated format. The antibody specifically detects the nucleoprotein of Influenza B. It's included in our corresponding FociSpot kit and can also be used in ELISA.
How does this FociSpot kit work?
The FocisSpot assay can be used in a number of setups from virus quantification to neutralizing antibody titer assessment. To quantify the amount of infectious virus in a sample, a host cell monolayer is infected with that sample during a short period of time. Incubation times are limited to only quantify the initial number of infectious particles in the sample. In the case of influenza, we’d recommend inhibiting reinfection by adding oseltamivir to your infection experiment.
The virus-infected cells can then be detected with our FociSpot kit. Foci are detected with immunostaining using a virus-specific mAb and a precipitating substrate reaction similar to ELISpot. The developed foci can then be automatically counted using the FociSpot application in Mabtech IRIS 2.
