What is CD43?

CD43 (cluster of differentiation 43) is a transmembrane type I glycoprotein expressed by most human leukocytes, including T cells, B cells, NK cells, and granulocytes. CD54 and Siglec-1 have been reported as ligands. CD43 has multiple functions, from cell adhesion to T cell co-stimulation to promoting T cell activation and survival.
